None of us can truly know what's going on. We are infinitesimal.
We have probably discovered some truths along the way.
We have written many stories, some very powerful.
We take what we will from these truths and stories to make our own stories.
Hopefully, someday, we'll figure it all out.
lyrics
Lyrics:
You like to think you’ve solved it all
but I tell you man, you’re way too small
Tell you man, you got no idea
Hey there man, you got no idea
You like to think that there’s a plan
You like to think you understand
Tell you man, you got no idea
Can’t compute, got no idea
Heard a story told you what to be
Well here’s another story and it’s all for me
Tell you man, we got no idea
Ain’t nobody got no idea
Pain and joy and true true love
Chemicals or God above?
Hey there man you got no idea
Way too small got no idea
It’s all there in black and white
Can we know if it’s wrong or right?
Tell you man, got no idea
Ain’t nobody got no idea
Can’t see it all, got no idea
Ain’t nobody got no idea
All that we thought we knew, what we know now
All of it flowing from “I don’t know how”
Stories told to us when we’re in our youth
presented to us as the truth
Don’t believe everything you think you know is true
Just get up and do what you’re gonna do
Was it Newton or was it Eve
Learned the most from the apple tree?
Tell you man, we got no idea
Ain’t none of us got no idea
Was there even a tree at all?
And which one had the biggest fall
It’s all the same, you got no idea
No no no no no idea
ain’t nobody got no idea
Tell you man, you got no idea
What we know now grows from what we knew then
Millions of branches of “we’re wrong again”
Some keep on looking and some settle in
but none of us knows where it ends
Don’t get too hung up on what you’ve been told to see
Just get up and be what you’re gonna be
See an apple tree and I know it’s real
and I pretty much know how it makes me feel
Then I realize I got no idea
No no no, no idea
Ain’t nobody got no idea
Tell you man, we got no idea
